Unattended Cigarette?

 
Smokers ALERT® consists of a three stage audio warning alarm system. If the cigarette is left unattended in the ashtray for more than three and one-half (3 ½) minutes, it will warn the user by going to the first stage of the audio warning alarm. If the cigarette is attended to, the ashtray will automatically reset itself and start the first stage over. If the ashtray is not attended to after the first stage, it will go to the second stage audio warning alarm after 60 seconds of alarming in the first stage and, if still unattended, it will go to the third stage audio warning alarm (85 decibel sound level at 10 feet) after 60 seconds of alarming in the second stage.

Ashtray Accidentally Knocked or Tipped Over?                      (Tilt Mode)

Tilt sensor will warn the user if the ashtray has been accidentally knocked or tipped over by going to the first stage audio warning alarm for 10 seconds and then going to the third stage audio warning alarm (85 decibel sound level at 10 feet). User must place ashtray in the upright position and reset the ashtray by pressing the reset sensor.

Ashtray will immediately go to the third stage audio warning when a cigarette falls out of the ash slot after the ashtray as been knocked or tipped over.(U.S. Fire Administration, July 2005) 40% of all smoking fires start in the bedroom or living room /family room areas of the home. In 35% of smoking fires, upholstered furniture, mattresses, pillows, or bedding and clothing were the first items ignited. Many smoking fires originate in the bedroom/family room areas late at night when the victims are sleeping.
